Fieldays 2015 was successful in attracting many more visitors this year than previously.
Fielday organisers say thousands more visitors attended compared to last year, despite the various hits the agricultural industry had taken recently. Among high profile visitors this year were PM John Key, who opened the show and the US Ambassador to NZ, Mark Gilbert, perhaps in anticipation of the TPP.
NZ based technology companies were present demonstrating their latest innovations for export and domestic markets. The interest was huge, especially in the young innovators exhibits. From the early pioneering days, New Zealand's growth in agriculture has always been spurred on by early adoption of new technologies. With all the difficulties facing the agricultural sector now, New Zealand can keep ahead by innovation and research.
